FAQ

Naginata

A naginata is a Japanese halberd, a long staff with a curved blade on the end.  They were used by samurai, primarily women, for centuries and now bamboo equivalents are still used to practice the form.

We practice the choreographed forms, called engi, for discipline and exercises.  You can find out more about naginata at the United States Naginata Federation webpage.
